I help organisations to prevent burnout in their management and leadership teams so that they can perform at their best.
I’m Dr Sarah Taylor and I help professional services firms protect their most valuable asset – their people – by enabling leaders to turn wellbeing into a source of sustainable performance rather than a hidden drain on energy, engagement and retention.
In high-pressure, client-driven environments, your success depends on leaders who can stay energised, think clearly and bring the best out of others – even when demands are relentless. Yet many organisations are seeing:
- Talented managers running on empty
- High performers edging towards burnout
- Rising turnover and loss of institutional knowledge
- Leaders promoted for expertise but not equipped for the human demands of leadership
Left unaddressed, this becomes a systemic risk that undermines productivity, decision quality, client experience and long-term growth.
Based in Edinburgh, I work with organisations across Scotland to strengthen leadership capacity, prevent burnout and retain high-value talent by helping managers care for their own wellbeing while confidently leading healthy, resilient teams.
Approach
If you’re responsible for leadership or talent development in professional services, you need approaches that are practical, credible and relevant. Your leaders do not need more generic wellbeing tips. They need fresh thinking about energy, pressure and performance that they can use immediately in the reality of their roles.
My leadership sessions are uplifting, engaging and intellectually stimulating, designed for managers who want to perform well without burning out.
Through lunch-and-learns, leadership away days, and manager development programmes, I help leaders to:
- Understand how energy, focus and recovery actually work under sustained pressure
- Identify hidden patterns in how they work that quietly drain performance
- Rethink rhythms of work, boundaries and availability in ways that are realistic
- Build confidence that sustainable performance is possible without lowering standards or ambition
- Lead in ways that protect both their own capacity and their team’s long-term effectiveness
Rather than offering a list of “wellbeing do’s and don’ts” that people already know, I share clear, evidence-informed frameworks and real-world examples that challenge assumptions and open up new options for action. The emphasis is on better judgment, deeper insight, and practical shifts, not lifestyle prescriptions.
Sessions are interactive and tailored to participants’ real work challenges, whether that is managing client pressure, leading teams through change, or sustaining energy over long periods of high demand.
Leaders leave with:
- A sharper understanding of their own energy and working rhythms
- Practical strategies they can apply immediately
- Greater confidence in their ability to lead sustainably in high-performance environments
The result is not just better wellbeing, but better leadership and more resilient team performance over time.
Key organisational benefits include:
My work supports organisations to achieve:
- Stronger leadership capability – Managers who lead with clarity, confidence, and emotional intelligence
- Improved energy and performance – Healthier leaders make better decisions and sustain output over time
- Reduced burnout and turnover risk – Addressing root causes rather than symptoms
- Embedded, leader-led wellbeing – Integrated into day-to-day leadership, not bolted on
- Employer of choice positioning – Strengthening trust with current and future talent
Why work with me?
I specialise in leadership wellbeing and understand the specific pressures leaders face in high-performance environments – and why generic wellbeing programmes so often miss the mark. I am an Executive and Mental Fitness Coach, an Organisational Welllbeing Consultant and the author of The Wellbeing Paradox.
With a PhD in Health and Wellbeing and decades of experience as an organisational development professional, I bring academic rigour, lived experience, and strategic insight to one of today’s most pressing challenges for professional services organisations: how to sustain energy, leadership effectiveness and performance in a world of work that is burning people out.
I have spoken across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, from national conferences to senior leadership summits, where my work resonates with leaders operating in high-pressure, performance-driven environments.
My style is practical, thought-provoking and uplifting. Participants often tell me they arrive tired or sceptical, but leave feeling lighter, clearer and more energised – with practical tools they can use straight away. They say things like:
“I have come away from each session feeling upbeat and recharged”
“I had a great light bulb moment during it where I felt I could now control my energy levels and I feel I have the right tools now to work on reducing factors/situations that drain my energy”
“It is so refreshing to have genuinely new insights into energy levels and not to be just told the same things I already know I should be doing”
