About
I help senior executives at fast paced tech companies understand the pillars of executive presence, so that they powerfully influence, get “buy in” and communicate effectively with key company stakeholders, driving engagement, performance and bottom line results.
When I work with executives, they often feel like they have to push their teams, or that they struggle to easily influence others in a work environment. Important decisions and change programs can get stuck at Board level, without the right standard of leadership. Even though these executives are highly competent at their jobs, they find it a struggle sometimes to “get people on board”.
It is easy to think of executive presence as “charisma” – something only available to the lucky few. In reality, few are born with executive presence. It is a skill that can be learned and with consistent practice, allows executives to powerfully move people to action, when the pressure is on and challenging decisions need to be made to drive change.
For organisations who coach their leaders on executive presence, this means improving executives’ ability to get buy-in on complex change programs. In a fast paced world and challenging market conditions, the leadership ability to move a Board rapidly to action and drive execution is crucial to the success of any company. Inertia has a price in terms of lost opportunity.
In order for executives to develop this skill, it comprises “internal” components, for example, emotional regulation, presence and confidence; and “external” components such as communication skills development and enhancing effective decision making.
As an Executive Coach & Neuroscience Practitioner, I partner with companies to help them:
- Drive employee engagement and productivity by giving their executives the tools to powerfully influence and move people to action, even in challenging situations.
- Drive bottom line results, by building leaders who communicate with greater clarity, gravitas and confidence, driving organisational and team performance.
- Develop leaders who are able to present key information to the Board, manage resistance, and get the buy in needed for complex change programs.
Busy executives don’t have tons of time to waste integrating complicated action steps; so, blending tailored bite-sized tools backed by neuroscience, means that executives who may not have had time before to prioritise integrating their learnings into their work life are suddenly able to use techniques that are simple, easy to integrate and create real results.
My coaching and executive presence training combined with simple neuroscience-based tools and somatic work, create rapid and remarkable results when implemented consistently for just 10-15 mins per day.
A C-Suite leader said recently after he did one-to-one coaching with me:
“Feedback from my own team is that I’m so much more clear about the decision making that I’m doing now, that it’s helping the team to be confident in taking the necessary steps as well as executing quickly. The presence came naturally after I stopped questioning myself as much. And so that helps team dynamics, it helps collaboration, it helps us trust each other more as a team. I think genuinely that that lifts the entire team in a fairly organic way. You need to have a view, as a leader. You can always get opinions, but you yourself need to be grounded in your views, without being rigid.”
