Specialism: Change & transformation

I help companies build practical risk management frameworks that actually get used, so that they can react quickly to change and build resilience into their business.

About

I am a risk management and business continuity specialist, working with UK businesses to help them articulate the risks that keep them up at night, analyse their mitigation activities and identify improvement activities.

Many businesses have grown quickly, and their systems have developed organically, rather than optimally. I believe that people and systems come to work to do their best. A risk management framework should support your teams, not be generated just to demonstrate compliance.

Problems that your organisation may currently face might be knowing what to do if a key employee leaves suddenly, a supplier fails, a customer disputes a major invoice, or a regulatory change catches you off guard.

These aren’t theoretical problems. They’re the everyday reality of running a business and I work with you to ensures nothing falls through the gaps. Leaders often sense that something needs changing, but aren’t sure where to start and that’s where I can help. I work with businesses that are dealing with one or more of these challenges:

  • Overreliance on a few key people, clients, or suppliers, with no real plan if something goes wrong
  • A compliance or regulatory burden that feels like box-ticking rather than genuine protection
  • No clear idea of the biggest risks the business faces
  • A recent near-miss or incident that prompts the question of what else might be missing
  • Business growth that has outpaced its governance arrangements

The commercial benefit of good risk management isn’t about avoiding change but about understanding what issues might arise and ensuring the benefits outweigh the risk. Businesses I work with come away with a clearer understanding of where they are genuinely exposed, practical frameworks they can actually use and a much stronger foundation for conversations about good change management.

My methodology is grounded in practical risk frameworks developed across complex, regulated environments. I don’t do tick-box compliance. I focus on good risk management that protects your business, enables better decision making and identifies priorities for implementing change.

I bring experience of various industries including automotive supply chain, nuclear energy, and independent consulting, where I’ve built internal controls frameworks, designed compliance training programmes, and led self-assessments.

I hold an BA (hons) in business information systems, an MBA, and a Diploma in purchasing and supply, alongside hands-on experience in fraud and bribery prevention, GDPR, risk self-assessments, and operational resilience. I care deeply about ethical practice and sustainable outcomes, and I am drawn to work where those values are shared.

Training and development are integral to my work. Whether developing frameworks, designing self-assessment processes, or creating practical tools, my focus is always on ensuring the change has been embedded into the business before I leave.

Previous clients have said that they find me ‘thorough and thoughtful. I really like her ideas and vision – she has a great skillset with lots of insight.’ That I have ‘strong strategic and programme management skills. She is an experienced change leader, able to inspire others to improve their working practices and able to simplify and streamline complex processes and procedures.’ And that I’m ‘knowledgeable, capable, and innovative, as well as easy to work with: she really knows her stuff, is full of ideas and knows how to manage her clients for best results.’
