About
I help professional services organisations ensure their senior leaders and newly promoted executives perform at their best under pressure, by developing stress management as a core leadership skill. This work means companies retain their top talent, deliver consistent results and minimise the risk of leadership burnout.
In professional services companies the demands on leadership have never been greater. Top tier executives must constantly maintain client satisfaction whilst also contending with changes in the marketplace, adapting to new regulations and juggling team management and performance. For many professionals imposter syndrome can also be triggered in more senior roles. Added stress occurs when work is done under pressure, with high volumes and tight deadlines.
In addition, newly promoted managers often face increased stress when moving from a high performing individual to leading people, coping with greater visibility and handling a heavier and more pressured workload.
The resulting chronic stress not only affects the individual mentally, physically and emotionally but this will significantly impact how they show up to work. Stress can cause people to become withdrawn, make more errors, struggle to meet deadlines or procrastinate over tasks. It affects client relationships and the dynamics of any team they are part of and can eventually lead to burnout and ultimately the loss of key talent. All of which have severe financial consequences for the organisation.
By supporting staff with the necessary tools and techniques to manage their stress, they can think more clearly, make faster and better decisions, engage more positively with clients and team members, and deliver consistent high-quality work.
The approach I use to support Professional Services organisations achieve a high performing, happy and healthy leadership team, ensures their people:
- Cope better under pressure and actually master their stress, using their improved mindset, as a strategic leadership skill
- Replace limiting self-doubt to lead with confidence and authority
- Navigate the pressures of increased demands and responsibility
- Accelerate their success in newly promoted roles during their transition
- Turn work pressure from a drain on their performance, into a driver for better results
Stress mastery is not a nice to have wellbeing trend, it has a direct influence on a company’s productivity and profitability.
The commercial benefits of employing this type of support are numerous but one of the key areas is talent retention. Retaining top leaders is crucial to the financial success of a company. The cost of losing a senior performer, taking into account recruitment, onboarding, loss of continuity to the client and a reduction in team performance and morale, far exceeds their annual salary. In working with me to prevent early burnout, you ensure your best leaders stay with you to contribute at the highest level.
My passion for helping organisations in this way stems from my own workplace experience. I left my corporate role feeling burnt out and believing my only option was to walk away. This was a costly and avoidable end for both me and my employer. I am determined to ensure your people never feel that stress is pushing them out of the door. Combining my diploma in Personal Performance Coaching, my NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) practitioner accreditation, and my first-hand understanding of the pressures leaders face, I provide the practical tools and strategies your staff need to thrive.
One head of department recently said: “I left each session with my own actions, new thought processes, and a week on week “buzz” of positivity returning.”
