Bev leads MCA’s digital wellbeing work, helping organisations reduce stress, embed healthier digital wellbeing practices and to grow the skills to spot possible harmful effects of new tech tools.

MCA helps businesses to uncover and change the impact of everyday digital tools and systems on the wellbeing, decision-making, focus and culture of their people.

We have over 25 years experience building digital systems for local government and businesses and are now working at the intersection of mental health and technology.  We bring a wealth of knowledge on creating and building tech systems AND the ripple effects of embedding those systems into teams.

We blend commercial pragmatism with thoughtful strategies to support the wellbeing of your people in the age of automation and from the latest tech trends and pressures.  This may currently show up as:

  • High levels of stress and overwhelm from constant notifications, information overload and the inability to ‘switch off,’ leading to a rising number of sick days.
  • People struggling with decision fatigue and paradoxically a lack of agency in making decisions.
  • Poor sleep and recovery patterns due to the ability to be ‘always on’ and so finding it hard to be ‘off’.
  • A drop in creativity and innovation caused be a lack of down time and scattered attention.
  • Reduced empathy and heightened friction in relationships, a by-product of digital communication.

MCA’s work aims to combat these issues leading to:

  • a reduction in sick days and presenteeism,
  • increased focus, creativity and better decision making,
  • stronger team resilience and healthier tech habits,
  • greater staff satisfaction from supporting wellbeing in very practical and usable ways.

Bev Costoya leads this work for MCA.  She is a certified Mental Health First Aider, ICF-trained Digital Wellbeing Coach and a qualified IT Trainer with over 25 years experience supporting organisations to make technology work for their people.

Like many, Bev loves technology and struggles with it too, so there is no judgement of people’s digital habits in coaching sessions.  Her approach is practical and engaging.  Training sessions are designed to spark curiosity, share knowledge and have space to experiment and practise new behaviour so that new skills embed faster.  Consultancy always begins by understanding the specific cultural environment of each client and reports are clear, useable and straight forward.
