Lydia Leighton Nutrition & Wellbeing

Specialism: Health & Wellness

I enhance organisations’ productivity by boosting mental clarity of employees and reducing their daytime fatigue through practical, evidence-based nutrition education.

Professional services companies provide high-touch services to clients, which can result in employees forgetting, or not being able, to look after their own unique needs.  This may mean skipping scheduled breaks, surviving the day on coffee and pastries, regularly working through lunch, or leaving work late because the afternoon fatigue and energy slumps have reduced productivity.  In the short term, this can negatively affect mood, and left unaddressed could lead to low morale, increased stress, burnout, poor health, and time off work.

As a Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Consultant with over 20 years’ experience, both in the NHS and private practice, I expertly guide organisations in educating and supporting employees with practical strategies to nourish and fuel themselves in ways that optimise daily energy levels whilst supporting their long term physical and mental health.

My bespoke, whole-person approach, ‘Eat Better Today’, cuts through the confusing media hype and makes nutrition science easy to understand.  It combines practical guidance on what to eat, with exploration of eating behaviours and mindset, helping people to understand the how and why they eat.  Participants leave with greater confidence and practical ideas for making food choices that suit their individual needs, helping them feel healthier, happier, more energised and clear-headed.  These improvements in wellbeing can enhance productivity and help minimise sickness absence.

I support organisations by:

  • Designing and delivering engaging nutrition related talks, workshops and training to help employees translate evidence-based nutrition into realistic daily habits, leading to improved energy, focus, decision-making, and sustained productivity.
  • Creating bespoke resources tailored to your workforce so that they have a trusted reference point that reinforces learning, supports behaviour change, and maximises the return on your wellbeing investment.
  • Offering individual nutrition consultations giving employees convenient access to expert support during working hours, helping them to address fatigue, stress-related eating, digestive issues, and other concerns that may otherwise impact performance.
  • Providing practical food demonstrations where appropriate to show employees how to apply guidance in real life, thus increasing engagement, confidence, and the likelihood of lasting lifestyle improvements.

I work in a holistic, non-judgemental way, taking time to get to the heart of the problem and tailor the information in a way that meets the needs of your company.  Most importantly, I deliver my work with good humour, compassion, creativity and a genuine commitment to your needs.

I’ve worked with organisations to bring their nutrition visions to life in a creative and flexible way.  Here’s what one Head of Employee Engagement and Organisational Development Officer said:

‘Lydia’s sessions were practical, engaging and easy for employees to relate to. Lydia brought a wealth of expertise and was incredibly flexible in her approach, shaping the content around our needs making it helpful for everyone. Her guidance made complex nutrition topics simple and actionable, giving our employees tips and insights they could apply in their everyday lives, which had a real, positive impact on their wellbeing.’
